Production Accounting Supervisor

Great leadership position working 40-45 hours a week. 

As a working supervisor, you'll:
  • Oversee the Project Accounting team while invoicing for several key product groups
  • Invoicing duties include:
    • Analyze project documentation and prepare invoices based on contract requirements
    • Work with Project Engineering Teams on job specific invoicing requirements
    • Invoice milestones accurately and timely
  • Implement process improvements and create time-saving efficiencies
  • Become the subject matter expert on proprietary invoicing software and the primary point of contact with IT regarding updates and modification requests
  • Complete monthly Job Cost Report analysis and reconciliation in coordination with the Project Manager for timely financial reporting
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with customers on past due invoices
  • Assess workload across Project Accounting team and recommend adjustments as necessary
  • Ensure monthly closing deadlines are complete and assist with annual audit
  • Streamline Project Accounting procedures and recommend best practices
  • Facilitate Project Accounting cross-training and develop team members
To be a good fit you'll have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or similar), or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in preparing, processing, and analyzing financial information
  • Recent supervisory or management experience
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting functions
  • Ability to prepare and oversee the preparation of milestone-based invoices
  • Lead-by-example personality and management style
  • Strong analytical skill set with confidence to defend a position with logical reasoning
  • Ability to state clear, concise, and compelling reasons in an upbeat manner
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel/Word/Power Point/Outlook
  • Detailed oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • A high sense of urgency, strong initiative, and the ability to multi-task while working under tight deadlines
  • Results driven with a commitment to ownership and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently with limited instruction
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (position includes frequent communication with management)
  • Professional in all aspects including superior work product
A plus if you have:
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL
  • Experience with project accounting and invoicing milestones
