(AP, Payroll & General Accounting)
The Senior Accountant is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting functions while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in maintaining strong internal controls, improving processes, and stabilizing accounting operations.
This position offers long-term growth potential, with the opportunity to develop into a Controller-level role over time.
Oversee and manage the full accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong vendor relationships
Administer payroll processing and compliance, including related reporting and reconciliations
Perform and review journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures
Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
Develop documentation for accounting procedures and workflows
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Support audit preparation and coordination
Provide oversight and guidance to AP and payroll staff
Serve as a key partner to leadership in financial operations
Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes
Develop skills and experience aligned with future Controller responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience managing accounts payable and payroll functions
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close
Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
Strong attention to detail with ability to improve processes
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred:
Experience in construction, manufacturing, or job-cost environments
Supervisory experience
