Job Description:
The Director of Finance provides financial vision, leadership and direction for the division, providing meaningful corporate planning data, creating and analyzing ongoing forecasts of business performance, and managing the reporting of business results.  The Director of Finance also oversees pricing, capital prioritization, risk management, and other financial initiatives.   

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Provides leadership in the development and implementation of programs, systems and practices consistent with established policies.
  • Compiles composite reports from individual reports of subordinates required by management or government agencies.
  • Reviews and interprets financial plans, statements, and reports with Division Management and provides counsel and direction in the use of accounting and financial information.
  • Participates in business planning activities and works with the VP - General Manager as an advisor on financial and administrative matters.
  • Develops and refines accounting and financial reporting procedures, policies, systems and controls.
  • Monitors the administration of established budgets and reviews trends and variances with Senior Division Management. Participates in the development of the division’s long-range business plan, financial forecast, and capital and operating budgets.
  • Participates in the definition of division’s short and long-term strategic plans including financing requirements, identification of alternative financing strategies, and the implementation of the most prudent/viable approaches.
  • Works with Corporate Accounting to prepare monthly financial statements and other financial reports for Division and Corporate Management in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Work closely with each sales channel and coordinate regular business reviews
  • Improve financial and operational performance across the business by identifying and assessing areas where the company can drive improved productivity and efficiency
  • Provide a high level of thought process to drive improvement; identify areas with opportunity, and lead projects to enhance the reporting and analytical infrastructure.
  • Manage and coordinate special projects

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 10+ years of experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent time and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, Business Objects, Host Analytics. Ad-Hoc Query design.
  • CPA and/or CMA and/or MBA.
  • Previous manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Public and/or cost accounting experience preferred
