Job Description:
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis provides vision, leadership and direction to the financial planning and analysis team and is responsible for supporting the Annual Operating Plan,  providing meaningful corporate planning data,  creating and analyzing ongoing forecasts of business performance, and managing the reporting of business results.  The Director of FP&A also oversees pricing, capital prioritization, risk management, and other financial initiatives.   

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is also a vital member of the Design Team, responsible for collaboratively engaging other leaders and internal customers to identify areas for improvement, provide visibility to root causes/challenges, and bring forward recommendations and solutions.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Member of Design team responsible for understanding all aspects (operations, finance/ customers/sales) and engaging in collaborative decision making process on behalf of the company
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Participate on, and contribute to, Profit Sharing Committee, and other teams as required.
  • Develop and mentor the FP&A team
  • Work closely with each sales channel and coordinate regular business reviews
  • Participate in customer visits to better understand market drivers and consumer needs.
  • Oversee the pricing of all domestic products to ensure proper balance between strategic prioritization, financial viability, and support of the customer’s business needs. 
  • Utilize system view diagrams and PDSA as major tools to achieve desired goals and objectives Attend annual training to improve knowledge and system thinking
  • Improve financial and operational performance across the business by identifying and assessing areas where the company can drive improved productivity and efficiency
  • Provide a high level of thought process to drive improvement; identify areas with opportunity, and lead projects to enhance the reporting and analytical infrastructure.

  • Manage and coordinate special projects
  • Educate employees on controllable costs. 
  • Recommend process to reduce discretionary expenditures to help the company achieve global cost savings metrics.
  • Analyze detailed financial information along with current and past trends in key performance indicators to provide accurate and timely financial and operational recommendations for decision making purposes
  • Assist functional department heads in meeting financial objectives, ensuring performance against budget and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Define and report meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead to insightful, accurate business decisions
  • Support the annual strategic planning process
  • Support Executives and other Management on strategic and operational prioritization by performing appropriate financial analysis and identifying unfavorable trends and causes
  • Provide key financial analysis to enable both tactical and strategic decisions
  • Actively own key finance and business processes
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process, including the capital plan
  • Manage enterprise risk management policies and procedures
  • Streamline the ability to efficiently update forecast results in order to create rolling 12 month detailed forecasts and a 3+ year high-level strategic forecast.
  • Be the thought leader for forecasting best practices
  • Summarize and deliver executive level reporting


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 10+ years of experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent time and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, Business Objects, Host Analytics. Ad-Hoc Query design.
  • CPA and/or CMA and/or MBA.
  • Previous manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Public and/or cost accounting experience preferred
