Reports to:                                               Director of Human Resources

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to assist and support all the functions of the Human Resources Department including, but not limited to recruiting, employment, orientation, training, benefits, employee relations, compensation, and compliance with all applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations.

Job Duties:
  1. HR Generalists will represent the Code of Ethics, Critical Success Factors, and Professional Expectations of All at all times.
  2. Will maintain strict confidentiality of all activities within the HR and other organizational departments. Confidentiality includes, but is not limited to: Pay information, personnel issues, sensitive information disclosed in meetings, pending policy or procedure changes that have not been announced, disciplinary information, information regarding any investigation, etc
  3. Will maintain office areas in presentable condition.
  4. Will complete assigned work within established deadlines.
  5. Serve as liaison for recruiting efforts to include attending/hosting job fairs and managing the employment process. Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job- related requirements. Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings.
  6. Responsible for maintaining all personnel files in auditable fashion. These files include, but are not limited to: Personnel, training, and benefits.
  7. Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.
  8. Maintain and create accurate electronic company records and reports. The HR Generalist is required to create custom reports and maintain the data as “up to date and auditable” at all times.
  9. Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints. Represents management in investigating, answering, and settling grievances, by arranging and scheduling meetings with employees, supervisors and the appropriate leadership team.
  10. Responsible for maintaining all external data updates (provider reporting, etc.)
 
  1. Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  2. Ensure compliance with all outside governing agencies.
  3. Maintain a current job description database.
  4. Assist with the administration of various employee benefit programs.
  5. Audit invoices to ensure accurate billing for benefits, training, etc.
  6. Maintain the departmental standard operating procedures and recommend changes when required. Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  7. Process garnishment of wages requests and employment verifications.
  8. Any other duties assigned by the Leader of Human Resources.


Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

 
    • Bachelor's degree Human Resources Management and/or related field or equivalent work experience as determined by the Director of Human Resources.
    • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
    • The ability to research and analyze various types of data information.
    • Must have the ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
    • Basic MS Excel skills (basic formulas, formatting, etc.) and good computer aptitude.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, persons from other departments and vendors.
    • Detailed oriented.
    • Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 
    • Competent user of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Must be an intermediate user of MS Excel.
    • Ability to share information through coaching teaching and training.
    • Ability to maintain accurate records and present data contained in those records in a timely manner.
    • Maintain an acceptable driving record, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation criminal history checks, and Community Service Registry Record checks.
    • Ability to handle sensitive issues while protecting others' welfare and privacy.
    • Ability to exercise patience, understanding, creativity, and flexibility.
 
  • Preferred:
    • Basic Human Resources working experience.
    • Knowledge of Human Resource principles and practices.
    • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, subtotals, auto filters, etc.)
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Experience with companies that provide supports to persons with developmental disabilities and/or not-for-profit organizational environments.
    • Payroll experience.
