VP Finance

Purpose of the job
The position holder is responsible for the finance value chain from accounting to business partnering in the Americas region across all business units. 

Responsibilities
  • Lead team of 20+ finance professionals in Houston (Texas), Tulsa (Oklahoma) and Mexico City in accounting, controlling / business partnering
  • Ensure high quality accounting (statutory/IFRS), internal controls and on-time delivery of monthly reporting incl. responsibility for liaising with internal and external auditors
  • Drive performance management in the region, foster business partnering capabilities and provide business partnering platform across all business units in the region
  • Act as partner to the Global Head of business units and drive performance management 
  • Formulate financial plans, budget and financial KPIs, cascade cohesive objectives and target-setting backed up by clear ownership, accountability and structured management framework
  • Set-up and drive performance controlling routines, institutionalize high quality forecasting and early warning processes. Ensure timely intervention and response plan in event of slippages
  • Deliver performance reporting and management communication
  • Enforce strong cash culture. Drive action to optimize cash generation and efficiency
  • Ensure performance is underpinned by fulfillment of internal guidelines and external regulatory rules
  • Set up operating procedures governing intercompany transaction and transfer-pricing guidance, in line with Group and Division directives

Educational background & professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business administration
  • 15+ years of experience in Finance & Controlling of global engineering and manufacturing company, proven track record in end-to-end financial value chain (accounting, reporting, business partnering)
  • Highly developed skills in internal financial reporting, application of accounting principles, financial decision making and internal control
  • Prior work experience in both Northern and Latin American countries a plus
  • Proficient MS Office, incl. Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven experience with integrated ERP, preferably SAP
  • Project management skills and project controlling experience

  • Strong commercial awareness and deep business understanding (ability to speak and partner in business language, not only finance language)
  • Excellent analytical skills, very strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple improvement initiatives at once
  • Pro-active and self-motivated mindset, highest level of integrity
  • Work experience in Northern + Latin American countries a plus; international in thinking and acting

Other requirements
  • Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
  • Readiness to travel frequently internationally, between the subsidiaries in Mexico City, Tulsa (Oklahoma) and Houston (Texas)
  • Has worked in stock exchanged traded company under IFRS or US GAAP accounting standard
