SUMMARY:  Responsible for managing data structure, ensuring data quality, developing standard reports and ad hoc analyses.  Analyzes trends, relationships and changes in the data and provides insight into the company’s operations through comparisons to prior periods, variance analyses and reconciliations.

POSITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Creates, maintains and publishes standard reports on all facets of the company’s operations, including profitability, working capital, pricing, job costing, market share, and expense management.
  • Creates ad hoc analyses and supports conclusions with sound business reasoning.
  • Assists other departments in utilizing financial and operational data to improve performance.
  • Capable of working with users/staff to educate and assist with process redesign to more effectively meet business requirements.
  • Apply continuous improvement principles and tools.
  • Work closely with IT, Finance, Administration, HR, Operations and all other company functions to identify and prioritize the most impactful candidate projects for improvement activities.
  • Report on project schedules and progress to management as required.
  • Work directly with Chief Financial Officer and equity partner.

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Functional knowledge of IT systems – SQL databases, ERP systems, CRM systems, etc. – and the business purpose of each.
  • Ability to create financial and management reports accessing data residing in business systems.  Knowledge of data structure within SQL databases preferred.
  • Practical approach to solving problems from both a technical perspective and a business perspective.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze, measure and present facts and figures to groups at any level of the company.
  • Self-starter with ability to set and achieve goals, as well as measure and report progress.
  • Capable of providing creative solutions to difficult problems.
  • Ability to manage several initiatives at once without compromising operating discipline.
  • Effective team member able to partner with associates and accomplish agreed upon objectives.
  • Leadership ability, including the ability to influence others without direct authority.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
 
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Experience with databases, financial and operational reporting and forecasting packages 4+years’ experience creating financial analyses and reports.
  • Ideally looking for a candidate with an MBA or CPA
  • Strong analytical skills (expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel)
  • Power BI experience is a plus
  • Proven ability to present information to the C level executives
