The Product Services division thrives on delivering high-quality products efficiently, with most orders processed within days to a few weeks. We are seeking, for our client, a knowledgeable and experienced Manufacturing Cost Estimator/Processor to join our team and contribute to their continued growth and success.

Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Cost Estimator/Processor will play a crucial role in analyzing and estimating costs for steel fabrication projects while supporting multiple aspects of our operations. This role requires a hands-on, collaborative individual who can adapt to our team-oriented, multi-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Analysis:

  • Break down assemblies and weldments into detailed cost components, including material costs, labor hours, and machine time.
  • Research and obtain current pricing for raw materials, supplies, and vendor services.
  • Analyze production costs and provide accurate estimates for quotes.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineering, production planning, and sales teams to gather and verify all necessary information for cost estimation.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and material availability.

Technical Skills:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine manufacturing requirements.
  • Create and manage multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Source and procure materials in alignment with project timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain inventory levels to support production demands.
  • Utilize manufacturing software for data entry, cost tracking, and process documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in steel fabrication processes, including plasma/laser cutting, press brake forming, machining, and assembly.
  • Proficiency in reading technical prints and multi-level BOMs.
  • Experience in cost estimating, sourcing materials, and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing software systems and data entry.
  • CAD experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
