We are seeking, for our client, a knowledgeable and experienced Manufacturing Cost Estimator/Processor to join our team and contribute to their continued growth and success.
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Cost Estimator/Processor will play a crucial role in analyzing and estimating costs for steel fabrication projects while supporting multiple aspects of our operations. This role requires a hands-on, collaborative individual who can adapt to our team-oriented, multi-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis:
- Break down assemblies and weldments into detailed cost components, including material costs, labor hours, and machine time.
- Research and obtain current pricing for raw materials, supplies, and vendor services.
- Analyze production costs and provide accurate estimates for quotes.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, production planning, and sales teams to gather and verify all necessary information for cost estimation.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and material availability.
Technical Skills:
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine manufacturing requirements.
- Create and manage multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Source and procure materials in alignment with project timelines and budgets.
- Maintain inventory levels to support production demands.
- Utilize manufacturing software for data entry, cost tracking, and process documentation.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in steel fabrication processes, including plasma/laser cutting, press brake forming, machining, and assembly.
- Proficiency in reading technical prints and multi-level BOMs.
- Experience in cost estimating, sourcing materials, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with manufacturing software systems and data entry.
- CAD experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
