The Senior Accountant supports the month-end close process, financial reporting, and daily accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership to provide clarity on financial performance and drive continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate has strong GAAP knowledge, experience in a manufacturing environment, and proficient in Epicor.
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
Lead critical components of the month-end and year-end close process.
Review and analyze financial results, identifying trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation.
Support manufacturing cost accounting, including BOM review, standard cost updates, and variance analysis.
Reconcile inventory accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Partner with operations to validate production data and understand cost drivers.
Assist with preparation of internal financial statements and management reports.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal control requirements, and corporate policies.
Support external audits through data gathering and documentation.
Provide oversight and support to AP and AR processes as needed.
Partner cross-functionally to resolve issues, streamline workflows, and improve accounting accuracy.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA-track preferred.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and month-end processes.
Proficient in Excel
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
