Job Summary
Responsible for general accounting, maintaining financial reports, records and general ledger.  Execute a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts receivable & collections, GL entries, general ledger reconciliations and bank reconciliations.

 

Job Functions:

  • General Ledger - Executes a variety of financial procedures, including month and year end closings.
  • AR Credit Management - Closely monitors AR accounts and their payment status.  Performs collection activity and recommends clients for credit limit increases, decreases or credit hold.  Works closely with operations and sales to ensure open communication of the status of customer accounts. 
  • Asset Management - Tracking reconciliation and reporting of company’s fixed assets and inventory.  Prepare and maintain fixed asset tracking, including monthly depreciation calculations.  Assist with inventory transactions, facilitate cycle counts and assist in year-end inventory cycles.  Track Capex expenditures and work with cross functional teams in reporting.
  • Intercompany - Understand the operating entity structure and intercompany relationship with related reporting requirements.
  • Account Analysis & Balance Sheet Reconciliation - Provides accounting support by reviewing financial information.  Provides detailed analysis and explanation of all transactions.  Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations and justification including all balance sheet accounts.  Prepare and maintain amortization schedules.
  • Full Cycle Month End Close - Prepare monthly journal entries and analyze for variances. Review P&L of operating locations by responding to inquiries and resolving by correcting and adjusting journal entries.  Review operating location level and main office expense accounts and research variances.  Process general journal entries, accruals, account analysis and reconciliation of accounts for month and year-end closes.
  • Internal Controls - Assist with maintenance and monitoring of financial systems, controls, policies, and procedures to ensure that all transactions are accounted for in accordance with US GAAP/IFRS as required.  Assists with internal control evaluations.  Participate in process improvement initiatives and aids in establishing and performing internal control guidelines and testing.  Contribute to the development of internal financial policies & procedures.
  • Cost Accounting - Analyze business activity costs, such as labor, inventory, and raw materials, to identify waste and inform pricing strategies.  Assist operations with needed BOM changes.
  • Inventory Adjustments - Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that weekly cycle counts are completed, posted, weekly publish ensure that all ad-hoc inventory requests are legitimate and are posted correctly.  Ensure production can operate without any delays.
  • Assist 3rd party Accounting Firms - Supports external firms with audits and tax matters.  Prepare work papers and schedules for external auditors. Assist in yearly property tax renditions.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 4+ years’ experience in accounting or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
